WRITTEN

Panata Ng Makabayan

Panata ng Makabayan, created by Benj Bermudez, Bernard Catacutan, Mark Bondoc, and Joshua Agon tells a story of a future filmmaker who wants to change not only the the film industry but the world around him.

Maskara"This piece is my watercolor painting made on February 10, 2022. This painting is called "MASKARA" for it shows four different masks with various colors in it that symbolizes my various moods, attitudes and personalities. My style was one stroke painting for it symbolizes myself. The meaning behind the painting was, describing myself as someone who have different sides: average, self-centered, reserved and as a role model. This is because I treat people differently and acts differently based from various situations. However, this would not mean that I am pretentious rather, shows how vigilant I am towards any situation I encounter."Patricia Nicole Dandan

Serendipity No.5"This started as me getting some bad vibes off my psyche then it just progressed into a full on piece where the random shapes started to look like something. It’s a digital artwork of the Northern Lights shining over a mountainous area and it’s a few strokes away from being a Hilda series tribute (which is a whimsical show by the way).I just like anything that inspires whimsy, fantasy, or straight up magic."Phoebe Kwek

The wanderer at the brim "The wanderer at the brim is a story of a lost wanderer that contemplates his travels and the life that he has lived.Though he has chosen this life he cannot help but wonder how would his life turn out if he had chosen something other than becoming a wanderer and now that he sits on the shore he now wonders what he should do next. "Mikhail Joseffe Buhain

Not a Stranger to the Wind"This artwork is inspired by one of the song's called "Any Way the Wind Blows" from one of my favorite musicals, Hadestown. It is based off of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The woman in the painting is Eurydice with the wind blowing around her. It's colors are inspired by Hadetown's concept album art."Abigail MuΓ±oz

The Universe & Its Doorways"Opportunities come in multitudes but we can only go through them one at a time. We either choose wisely, or choose blindly. "Frances Amparo

Eyes Can Tell"The eyes can tell one's story."Barbara Anne Carpio

"Let Women Lead" (A recreation of a Diane Arbus photograph)"In our photography class, we had to recreate famous black and white photography. This is a recreation of Diane Arbus's "A Woman with Pearl Necklace and Earrings."For my version, my model was one of my family member's who somewhat resembles the woman in the original photo.I titled it "Let Women Lead" as society, especially sexist people, see certain symbols like pearl accessories to be rather feminine.Yet, this image shows that just because women have feminine taste or tendencies doesn't mean they aren't incapable of also being strong and fiery as well. This is also the same for any woman in any scenario - especially in today's current still heavily sexist social society even in politics."Abigail MuΓ±oz
